William Edward Howard married Mary M. Florin 10/25/1888. Illinois County Marriage records indicates he was the son of George and Mary (Kinsler) Howard. From contributor #50266709.

William E. Howard, 78, Mulvane, Wedded 57 Years, Passes Saturday

William Edward Howard, 78, retired Mulvane community farmer, died at his home in Mulvane late yesterday after a long illness.

A resident of the community for over half a century, Howard had been engaged actively in farming until retiring in 1938 when he moved into town. he and Mrs. Howard celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary last month. He had been a member of the Brethren church for 25 years.

Survivors, besides the widow, include two daughters, Mr. Edna Gunnell and Mrs. Helen Mayfield, both of Mulvane, and two sons, Walter Howard of Derby, and Oliver Howard of 341 North Ash in Wichita. there are 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the Mulvane Church of Christ with Rev. Frank Kessler officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery there under direction of the Hooton mortuary.
