Ann T. Wheat, age 73, of Palatine, died on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
She was born on July 17, 1934, in Edwardsville, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Delcye Trares.
She was married to Robert Wheat. He survives.
She is survived by her husband and a son: Craig, and his wife Christine, Wheat; a daughter: Laura, and her husband Tim, Peak; grandchildren: Maggie, Zachary, and Jackson Wheat, and Aidan Peek; a brother: John, and his wife Helena, Trares; and a sister-in-law: Carleen Trares.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Robert Trares.
Mrs. Wheat was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., in Palatine.
A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 18.
A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, in Palatine.
Interment will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Palatine.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4709 Golf Road, Skokie, IL, 60076.
Ahlgrim Family Funeral Services in Palatine is in charge of arrangements.
