From the Caldwell Tribune, 4 Feb 1916:
"Mounce Bowman died at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 10 days at his home twelve miles west of Caldwell, in Lower Dixie, january 26. Mr. Bowman was born near Nashville, TN on 16 Dec 1843 and lived there until seven years of age, when he emigrated with his father's family to MO. Mr. Bowman crossed the plains to Idaho in '64. He has always lived near Caldwell and vicinity. He was twice married, and had two children by his first marriage and 4 by the last. Mr. Bowman leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and five children."
There is some disagreement as to whether Mounce had a third child with his first wife, Rebecca Ann (Perkins) Bowman. Thomas Bowman was born after Mounce and Rebecca divorced. Mounce married second, Mary Elizabeth Parrish.
