Harrisburg Telegraph, Monday, July 19, 1937:
Carlisle, July 19 -- Mrs. Mary Senseman Stickel, 81, widow of John Stickel, died Saturday afternoon at her home, 1220 North West street.
Mrs. Stickel was a member of the Home Department of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and is survived by twelve children, Mrs. John Yoter, Edward Stickel, Jacob Stickel, Charles and Warren Stickel, all of Pittsburgh; Nellie Stickel, at home; Mrs. Arthur McCleary, Ross Stickel, and Mrs. Emlen [sic] E. Davis, all of Harrisburg; Lee Stickel, Warren; Richard Stickel, director of District 3, Division of Motor Carriers, Interstate Commerce Commission, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Joseph Stapchinskas, Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. M. L. Dunkleberger, Carlisle, a brother Frank Senseman, Elizabethtown; a niece, Pauline Blaine, at home, sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at 9.30 o'clock tomorrow morning at the home. Burial will be in Kutz's Church Cemetery, the Rev. Dr. Harry B. Stock, St. Paul's Church, assisted by the Rev. Ira F. Brame, retired Lutheran minister, officiating.
Friends may call tonight from 7 until 9 o'clock at the home.
