Also he worked in cinema, becoming one of the most important French actors. He appeared in "Les Beaux Jours" (1935), "Les Bas-Fonds" (1936), "Premier de Cordée" (1944), "El Sueño de Andalucía" (1951), "Z" (1969)and "Dieu seul me voit" (1998). He also was an Olympic skier and mountain climber.
