Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and Rochester Herald: March 10, 1926 has Death notice for James McGibbon. It states that he died March 9th, 1926 at home. It lists his children as Therese McGibbon, Charles McGibbon, Joseph McGibbon and James McGibbon. It lists him as having a brother John McGibbon and two sisters. One sister was Mrs. W. Mother Jane died shortly thereafter and is buried near her parents at St. Ann's Cemetery in Merrickville, Ontario.

James was the grandson of James McGibbon & Margaret Stewart and John Roche & Ann Henry.

James married his first wife Lucia Fontaine in 1889. He married his second wife Lucie Anne Longpre in 1893.
