To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1. A native of Woodville, MS and resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away peacefully at home Friday morning, July 5, 2013 at the age of 90. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting at Winnfield Funeral Home, 7221 Plank Road, on Friday, July 12 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and on Saturday, July 13 at St. Mary Baptist Church at 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Rev. Conway L. Knighton. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughters, Bertha Vallery (Lennis) of Baton Rouge, Dianne Brandon (Kenneth) of Baker, Shirley Long of Richland, WA, Janice Jackson (Newman) of Oakland, FL and son Donald Ray Neal of Baton Rouge; brother, Levi Black (Audrey) of Baton Rouge and sisters, Ollie Bland of Baton Rouge and Ella Veals (Bennie) of Baker; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 1 brother.
