Photo from YE ANTIENT BURIALL PLACE OF NEW LONDON, CONNECTICUT, compiled by Edward Prentis, published by Press of The Day Publishing Co., 1899. Grave of John, Esq. and Elizabeth Hempstead Plumbe is marked "111," and lies behind #103 and to the left of #131 in this photo. Many of the grave markers have obviously been eroded, destroyed or possibly even stolen in the past 113 years.

Hempstead House, New London, New London, Connecticut. This is a view used in a vintage postcard which shows a view from the southwest. According to this view, the original structure would be the left half of the larger structure, to the left of the chimney, and minus the smaller addition behind the tree.
