Clara D. Nowels Dies, Services Set Thursday
Mrs. Clara Dvorak Nowels age 64, Aberdeen, passed away at Power County Hospital in American Falls, Oct. 12, 1964, following a heart attack.
Mrs. Nowels was born April 2, 1900 in Central Lake, Michigan a daughter of Nate and Alice Edyvean Newcomb. The family moved to Aberdeen in 1907, where she attended school and graduated from Aberdeen High school in 1917. She attended Albion State Normal School 2 years, then taught for about 3 years. On June 12, 1923 she married Frank Dvorak, who passed away Feb. 10, 1938. One son was born to this union. On August 18, 1950 she married Wilson Nowels. Clara Nowels was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the Methodist church. Surviving her are her husband, one son, Frank William Dvorak, and one granddaughter, all of Aberdeen. 2 sisters, Mrs. May Jacks, Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Lillie Dvorak of Aberdeen.
FUNERAL services will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 15, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Aberdeen with Rev. Edmund B. Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Aberdeen Cemetery under the direction of Davis Mortuary. O.E.S. will conduct a graveside service.
Casket bearers are James Prestidge, John Wonderly, Tom Ballentine, Lynn Hansen, Carl Morgan and Elwood Allred.
Flowers ladies will be members of the W.S.C.S.
