Mr. Staes retired from active life nearly two years ago. He was a member of Sacred Heart church and was an honorary member of Note’s Belgian American military band. His wife preceded him in death in 1911. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Emma DeVolde and Mrs. Philip Hendricks, six sons, Alphonse, Adolph, August, Reene and Alois all of this city, and one son in Belgium. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 Monday morning in the home and at 9 in the Sacred Heart church. Father Culemans will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery, East Moline.
