Charley Edward Phillips, 87, of Barling passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, in his home.
He was born May 10, 1926, in Ratcliff to Thomas and Leoma Phillips.

He retired from driving a dump truck with Arkhola Sand and Gravel, worked for Colonial Bakery and was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Brandon and Lillian Adams; and a brother, Thomas Phillips Jr.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Smith Mortuary in Charleston with the Rev. Jim Hughes officiating and burial at Barling City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Mortuary.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Phillips of the home; his son, Larry Phillips and wife Kay of Greenwood; granddaughter, Mandi Williams and husband Justin of Fort Smith; grandson, Kyle Phillips of Ireland; sister, Carol Dickerson of Ratcliff; and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Evan and Ethan Williams.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kyle Phillips and Justin Williams; nephews, Ty Berry and Doug Dickerson; and extended family, Bill McCain Sr. and Bill McCain Jr.
