Frank L. Hull, Near Arlington, Suicide Victim

Frank L. Hull, 57, retired railroad employe, was found dead of a shotgun wound at 5:30 a.m. Friday on a county road a short distance from his home 3 1/2 miles northwest of Arlington.

Dr. Robert B. Johnson, Rush County coroner, said the wound was self-inflicted. Relatives said Mr. Hull had been in ill health.

The body was discovered by Otis Willis, who was driving down the road in a truck. It was lying in the middle of the road a quarter of a mile from the Hull home. a 20 guage shotgun lay nearby. Death occurred about 2:30 a.m., Dr. Johnson said.

Dr. Johnson, who with Sheriff Harry Levi, investigated, said the shotgun charge had penetrated Mr. Hull's left side.

The victim had been working as a painter since retirement as a signalman for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. He had lived near Arlington with his wife the last three years.

He was a World War I veteran and was born February 6, 1897, in Richland County, Ill., a son of Frank and Mary Hull.

His widow, Mrs. Crystal Hull, whom he married December 25, 1932, and a brother, Kelly Hull, Olney, Ill., survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Carmony Funeral Home at Manilla with burial in Asbury Cemetery, near Morristown.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday.
