Services will be at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at the Rembs Kundinger Chapel for Mrs. Alice Ably, 88, Route 1, Butternut, formerly of Marshfield. She died of an apparent heart attack shortly after admission at 5:25 p.m. Monday at Park Falls Memorial Hospital, Park Fails. The Rev. Walter K. Schultheiss, associate pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today and until time of services on Thursday. The former Alice Wix was born Sept 25, 1888, in the Town of McMillan, Marathon County, and received her education there. Her marriage to Fred Ably took place Aug 6, 1906 at the Reformed Church in the Town of Cleveland. He preceded her in death Jan. 24,1945. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Rozellville area until coming to Marshfield in the late 1920s. For 13 years, Mrs. Ably was employed by the former Roddis Plywood Corp. The past 5 1/2 years she had been making her home at Route 1, Butternut, with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Graff. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Survivors include three daughters. Mrs. Melvin (Mae) Gauger, Route 1. Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Graff, Route 1. Butternut, and Mrs..Melvin (Jeanette) Kramer, Route 1, Marshfield; two sons, Clifford, Park Falls, and Chester, Marshfield; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clayton, Feb. 28. 1971. and by three sisters and two brothers.
