Norris J. Anker, 83, of Lake Orion, Michigan departed this life June 11, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.

He shared life with his wife of 37 years Betty Anker and seven children, Jim (Linda) Anker, the late William Anker, John (Janelle) Anker, Sue (the late Scott) Heverly, Bonnie Hart (Bob Brydges), Mike (Cindy) Anker and Kris (Terry) Lambert; and 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren; as well as nine brothers and sisters, Marjorie Braddock, Stanley Anker, Howard Anker, Geraldine Brown, the late Donald Anker, Audrey Short, Lyle Anker, Mary Ellen Thayer and Cathryn Anker, and many spouses, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.

Norris retired after 38 years from General Motors Fisher Body as a Tool and Die Maker as a pattern maker, where he trained many apprentices. He was also highly skilled as a carpenter and built seven houses for his family and his children.

He enjoyed working, hunting, fishing, traveling, reading, playing games but mostly being with and helping his children and grandchildren.
