Robert Allen Bocox was born February 3, 1951 in Eureka, Kansas to Lester and Dorothy (Prather) Bocox and died February 24, 2013 at his home in Enid. At the age of 12, Robert and his family moved to Enid where he resided the rest of his life. Robert graduated from Enid High School then from college in Alva. He was the assistant manager for T.G.&Y. in Enid and Woodward. He then worked for George E. Failing Co. until their closing. Robert was one of the last to be terminated from the company. Then, he started to work at NORCE for 14 years until he retired due to ill health.
He was preceded in death by his father and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Robert is survived by son, Jonathan Bocox of Edmond; daughter, Carla Townsend and husband, Tom of Owasso; mother, Dorothy Buford and husband, James of Ames; brother, Ronald Bocox and wife, Barbara and their children, Adam and Devin Bocox, all of Nobel, Ontario, Canada as well as one grandson, Tysen of Owasso.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gary Miller officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
