MIDWAY --Ballard Jones, 85, died Sunday at Memorial Medical Center in Savanah after a short illness.
The McIntosh County native lived in Midway for 50 years and owned and operated Jones Outboard Motor Service. He was a member of the Hinesville Masonic Lodge for 50 years and of the Scottish Rites in Savannah. He was a charter member of Midway United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, George B. Jones of Melborne, Fla. and Ballard Jones Jr. of Midway; and seven grandchildren, a great=grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Old Midway Congregational Church, burial in Dorchester Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home of Hinesville
