Buffalo friends were shocked yesterday to learn of the sudden death in Chicago of Harriet Studebaker Langdon, wife of Andrew Langdon of North Street.
Mrs. Langdon, who had been sending several weeks in Chicago with her daughter, Mrs. E.L. Kuhns, wife of the general manager of the Studebaker Bros. Wagon Co., had been in ill health for the past 2 years, and underwent a very serious operation in July of last year. A continuation of the difficulty influenced her to undergo another operation at the Michael Reese Hospital, where she died unexpectedly yesterday.
Mrs. Langdon was the widow of J.F. Studebaker, general manager of the Studebaker Bros. Wagon Co., who died 15 years ago. Since then she has spent much time abroad, especially before her marriage to Mr. Langdon a few years ago. During her residence in Buffalo she has been a member of the Delaware Avenue Baptist Church, and has won by her charming personality and strong character a world of friends here.
Mr. Langdon was not with his wife at the time of her death, but left last night for Chicago, knowing nothing of the particulars, beyond what was stated in the brief dispatch which summoned him.
