Lanark, Ill. Dec. 18 -- John Rogers, 74, died at 3 p.m. today at East Moline. The son of Herman and Catherine Rogers, he was born at Brookville Dec. 19, 1864. He was married to Anna Conrad March 31, 1890. Surviving are the widow; five daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Miller, and Mrs. Catherine Frey, Mount Carroll; Mrs. Bessie Sollenberger, Chadwick, and Mrs. Dollie Rahn and Mrs. Ethel Smith, Lanark; five sons, Lester and Orville, Mount Carroll; Harold of Savanna, and Lloyd and Russell of Lanark; 30 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, William Rogers, Rockford. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Trinity Lutheran church at Lanark, with the Rev. J.H. Feltcrolf, retired Mt. Carroll pastor officiating. Burial will be in Lanark cemetery.
Mr. Rogers was born Dec. 19, 1864, at Brookville, son of Herman and Catherine Rogers, and lived his entire life in Carroll County. On March 31, 1890, he was married to Miss Anna Conrad.
Surviving are the widow, daughters, Mrs. Dollie Rahn, Ethel Smith of Lanark, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Catherine Frey of Mt. Carroll, and Mrs. Bessie Sollenberger of Chadwick; five sons, Lester and Orville of Mt. Carroll, Harold of Savanna; and Lloyd and Russell of Lanark; a brother, Will; thirty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
