LAKELAND - Johnnie W. Collins, 88, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 as a result of natural causes. Ms. Collins was born New Year's Day in 1925 in Lyons, GA. Prior to moving to Florida she lived in Illinois where she worked as a retail buyer with Sears for many years. Ms. Collins resided in Lakeland at the Carpenters Home, for the past 7 years, where she received excellent care. She was a devout Christian woman and enjoyed being very involved with the church. Ms. Collins was preceded in death by her son, William. She is survived by her sister, Susie Ramon and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be conducted at Lakeland Memorial Gardens on Saturday July 13, 2013.
