In September 1851 Elisabeth's mother, Nancy Judd, died leaving minor children, who were given into guardianship to Elisabeth's husband John Jordan and another relative, Lawrence Dye. These younger siblings of Elisabeth were: Alexander, William Jasper, Lucinda, and Mary Eliza. Also included in the guardianship were 2 children of Elisabeth's deceased brother Squire Judd, who had drowned. The death and burial location for Elisabeth's mother, Nancy Judd, is not known.
Elisabeth's father, William Judd, was a veteran of the War of 1812. As a widower, he moved West with youngest daughter Lucinda (Mrs. Laban Hoover). He died and is buried in South Dakota. Elisabeth's brother John Judd moved to Missouri. Cousins through Elisabeth's maternal Vantrease lineage include Dye, Lamar, and other families who came from Kentucky to Vermilion County IL.
John and Elisabeth Jordan had known children:
Mary Elisabeth, 1844-1848
William Francis (Frank), 1846-ca 1865
Abraham, 1848-1923
John Calvin, 1850-1927

Elisabeth's exact death date and place of burial are not known. She is _not_ buried in Bethel Cemetery. John and Elizabeth were living in Illinois near Vermilion Grove at the time of her death. John Jordan descendants, meeting in reunion, made arrangements for a marker at the known graves of John and Rebecca. Likely they wanted to remember Elisabeth and hence included her information on this stone, not realizing the confusion it would cause to those who didn't know the family story.
Descendants of John Jordan continue to meet in reunion each year in Vermilion County IL.
