Millard Burchett left this life at 4:05 AM August 3, 2013 at his residence in Warsaw with his wife of 43 years Libby and his sister-in-law Martha Jayne Fearn at his bedside. His life truly began at that moment; he went to sleep and awoke in Heaven.

He had prayed for months for Our Heavenly Father to send his angels to carry him home. He had cried and asked Libby and Martha Jayne to tell him it was ok to go because he was ready. They both told him it was ok and he was waiting for it to be God's time. On Friday he told Libby he had always loved her and would continue to love her. He had won the battle, no more fighting the evils of cancer. Today he has a new body and is walking with our Lord while he waits for loved ones to join him. He left behind a testimony that leaves no doubt in the family's mind where he is today.

He was born June 16, 1931 to John S. and Virgie (Harville) Burchett in Emma, KY. Surviving is his wife Elizabeth "Libby" (Woods) Burchett with whom he had a wonderful marriage and shared everything right up to the end. In, addition, surviving is a loving and devoted son Danny Burchett and grandson Darren of Warsaw, both of whom were on this journey with Libby for the last year and truly loved their dad and granddad. Also, surviving is a son Bobby Burchett of Warsaw and a daughter Patty Reynolds of Kendallville, IN along with 4 additional grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include: a brother Walter (spouse Jean) Burchett of Warsaw; a sister Pearl Livingood of Ohio and a sister-in-law Mary Gladys Burchett of Warsaw. Furthermore, he has a host of nieces and nephews and many friends who will mourn his passing.

Preceding him in death on July 16, 2013 was his beloved daughter-in-law Wendy Burchett. Wendy loved Millard and she was loved so much in return. The family believes at 4:05 Am on Saturday Wendy met Millard at Heaven's gate and they had a joyful reunion. Also, his parents, brothers Flem Wesley "Bud" and James Estill "Jack" Burchett and sisters Josephine Humphreys, Pauline Burchett Jarvis and Lucille Goble Thomas preceded him.

Zimmer, Inc employed him for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed going to yard sales with Libby, even with his illness, and she took him to many yard sales. He was a very quiet and gentle man who had a tender loving heart. While a wonderful family member is lost, Heaven gained a new angel.

Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM August 7, 2013 in the Funeral Chapel. Pastor Woody Burchett will officiate the services. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Warsaw, IN.
