Age 78, a son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth Clark Rider. He was retired and had been a mechanic at Pete Oatess Ford for a number of years. Previously, he had been a race car driver. He enjoyed NASCAR and playing bingo, and was an Army Veteran of WW II.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley Fasick Rider; three sons, Bruce E. Rider, Jr. and his wife Marjorie, of Johnson City, Tenn., Ken Rider and his wife Carol, and Scott Rider and his wife Kathy, all of Erie; a sister, Marie Wrightstone of Shiremantown, Pa.; a brother, Chester Rider and his wife Cora, of Enola, Pa.; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Private burial occurred when his wife died with interment in Erie Co. Memorial Gardens.
