Trooper Wendy Everett was struck and killed in the line of duty with the Ohio State Police.

She was taking a report from a trucker whose windshield had been smashed by a water balloon that had been dropped from a freeway bridge. The incident occurred on I-270 near Circleville, Ohio.

The driver who killed Trooper Everett turned himself the next day. He plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to two to ten years in prison. After 18 months he was released on shock parole.

Trooper Everett was 25 years old, had served with the agency for 3 years. She was survived by her parents and sister.
