CARTHAGE Funeral services for Nita Rutherford, 50, of South Carthage will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 18, from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery in Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home.
Ms. Rutherford died on Thursday, March 14, 2005, at the Carthage General Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Onita Dunson on July 31, 1954 in Cookeville to Flora Dee Thomas Dunson of Baxter and the late Ernest Dunson. Ms. Rutherford was a 1972 graduate of Upperman High School and the Cumberland School of Technology. She was a laboratory technologist for 32 years and was most recently employed at the Carthage General Hospital. She was a member of the Bussell Church of Christ.
In addition to her mother, her family includes two sons: Jerry Wasson of Murfreesboro, and Andy Rutherford of South Carthage; two sisters, Linda Blair and Elaine Nabors, both of Baxter; a brother, Danny Dunson of Sparta, five nieces and nephews; and eight greatnieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Nabors.
