Carter E. "Jack" Fahs, 74, of York died at 10:11 a.m. Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Dolores E. (Wolf) Fahs.

A graveside service will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Fahs was born March 11, 1921, in Charlotte, N.C. He was the son of the late Cora E. (Rhyne) and Carter E. Fahs Sr.

He retired from BMY in 1986, where he was an assembler for nine years. Prior to that, he was a metal pattern maker for American Chain and Cable for 25 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church and Victory Athletic Association.
Mr. Fahs also is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Leash and Jean Dietz, both of York; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, LyVonne Elizabeth Fahs Odom of Charlotte, N.C.


Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Carl E. Bentz.
