Our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on January 17, 2011.

Carol was born on July 1, 1925 in Mammoth, Utah to Karl and Eva Eagar and was the oldest of four children. She was raised in Mammoth, Utah and attended schools in Eureka, Utah. She then moved to Provo, Utah and attended BYU and later worked at Geneva Steel. She also worked at BYU Bookstore as an executive secretary for twenty-five years.
She married her sweetheart, Preston W. Bushman, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on January 18, 1945. They made their home in Provo, Utah, where they raised their six children.

Carol was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she touched many lives through her selfless service. She was a compassionate leader. All who knew her were blessed by her deep wisdom and gracious example. Membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided Carol with many opportunities to serve others. She served in presidencies for the Relief Society, Sunday School, Primary, and Young Women's organizations at both ward and stake levels. Carol worked at the Provo Temple as a temple worker for eleven years. She made a regular habit of small private kindnesses. She took every opportunity to brighten someone else's day.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Preston W. Bushman, her parents, Karl and Eva Eagar, one brother, Doug Eagar, one sister, Joan Phipps, her son, Norman, and his wife, Carol, one grandson, Ryan Bushman, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Carol James.

Carol is survived by her five other children Sherie (RB) Bolin of Seattle, Washington, Jerry (Janet) of Pleasant Grove, Utah, David (LaVerne) of Provo, Utah, Deborah (Gary) Johnson of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Don (Debbie) of Mapleton, Utah. She has 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Bonneville 12th Ward Chapel, 1300 East 300 South, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center Street, Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and at the church Friday from 11:30-12:30 prior to services. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo, Utah.
