Katherine Burt was the daughter of Francis Ashmede and George Ann Hall Burt.

For thirty years, Sister Katherine was a member and worker in the Episcopal Church and for sixteen years, she was head of the Appleton Home in Macon, Georgia.

On Saturday, March 4, 1905 at 10:00 a.m., Miss Burt's funeral was held at the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Macon with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Died-Miss Katherine Burt, matron of the Appleton Church Home, of Macon, at her sister's, Mrs. George Robert's Wednesday, March 1st. The remains were carried to Macon and interred in Rose Hill Cemetery. The services were held at St. Paul Episcopal Church by Bishop Nelson, of Atlanta, assisted by Revs. Northrup, Lawrence and Walker, of Macon.

Note: the Macon Telegraph obituary is a little off with incorrect days and initials of some family members and whose home Katherine died. I believe the Marietta Journal to be the most accurate as family members submitted the obituary as opposed to ministers submitting the obituary for the Macon newspaper.
