Joanna Lois Burt was the daughter of Francis Ashmede Burt and George Ann Hall Burt of (now called) Anderson County, South Carolina. She married George Roberts on Feb. 26, 1879 in Cobb County, GA.

KENNESAW
Mrs. Joe Burt Roberts, whose health has been declining for several years, died at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Burt, Friday, December 28th.

Mrs. Roberts and her nephew, Mr. Frank Burt, Jr., lived here but had been staying with Mrs. Burt since her son, Mr. James Gray, has been in the army.

The funeral was by Rev. J.M. Spinks, Saturday afternoon and the remains were interred in the cemetery here.

Mrs. Roberts was the second wife of the late Mr. George Roberts of Woodstock. She leaves no children, but from childhood she has had with her, her devoted nephew, Mr. Frank Burt, Jr., who has done everything that a son could have done.

Many beautiful flowers were placed on the grave attesting the high esteem in which this good woman was held by her relatives and friends. At rest, no more pain and suffering and the afflictions of old age, affect Aunt Joe now.

The surviving relatives have the sympathy of the community.
