Carl Dean Boone, Galesburg Chapel 70, of Galesburg, died at 5:21 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born May 3, 1943 in Galesburg the son of LeRoy and Alda I. (Briggs) Boone. He married Patricia Prouty on August 7, 1971 in Wilmington, Ill.
He is survived by a son, Jeff Boone of Clearwater, Fla.; two daughters, Joyce LeFevre and Andrea Boone, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Gary Boone of Galesburg and Tom Boone of Shelbyville, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Carl was a registered nurse, working at Clearwater Community Hospital and various health care institutions for many years before retiring. He graduated from Galesburg High School, attended Olivet Nazarene University, and graduated from St. Pete Junior College in 1984. He was a member of the Galesburg First Church of the Nazarene. Carl was a loyal, lifelong Cubs fan.
Carl served in the United States Air Force for four years.
