He was born Dec. 31, 1914, at Gross, Kan. He married the former Elda Briggs on Oct. 8, 1940 at Iowa City.
He was employed as a carman by the Burlington Northern Railroad and was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his widow; three sons Gary and Thomas, both of Galesburg, and Carl, Bourbonnais; a daughter, Miss Rosalee Boone, at home; four brothers, Daniel of Knoxville, Dewey in Arizona, Dudley of Galesburg and Jim of Peoria; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Christianson, Wataga, and Mrs. LeRoy (Grace) Lovitt, Galesburg, and four grandchildren.
Funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home, Knoxville. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral home.
