Heyburn - Carol Baker, 83 year old Heyburn resident, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at her home.
Carol Fry Baker was born on November 30, 1929 at home on a ranch in Thatcher, Idaho, the ninth child and third daughter of John James Fry and Myrtle Rosa Ramsden. She grew up in Bremerton, Washington, where she graduated from high school at age 16 and then went on to get her Associates Degree. She met and married Forrest S. Baker Jr. On August 29, 1949. They had 65 years together. She was a co-partner with her husband in their business in transportation research and marketing. Carol was an exceptionally loving and generous person who was willing to help anyone in need. She was known and loved by all for her generosity and sharing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, 4 brothers, 7 children, 33 grandchildren, and 60 great grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Heyburn 1st Ward Building, 530 Villa Dr. in Heyburn. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Morris Hill Cemetery 317 N. Latah in Boise. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at the Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert and from 9:00 until 9:45 at the church prior to the funeral on Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorials be made to LDS Philanthropies Genealogy Department in honor of Carol Baker at 15 E. South Temple St. JSMB 2E, Salt Lake City, UT or donations may be left at Morrison Funeral Home. Arrangements under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
