Effie Viola Kaiser of Grass Valley died Friday, Sept. 22, at a local hospital. She was 87.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned. Burial will be at the Loney-Sanford Cemetery on McCourtney Road in Grass Valley.
Mrs. Kaiser was born on March 16, 1913, in Argyle, Minn., and was raised in Devil's Lake, N.D. She moved to San Francisco in 1942 and married James Harrison Kaiser two years later. She was a Nevada County resident for eight years.
Mrs. Kaiser was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Petaluma for many years
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Bonnie Kaiser of Helena, Mont; brother, Kay Imsdahl of Bakersfield; daughter-in-law, Virginia Imsdahl of Grass Valley; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kermit Imsdahl, in April.
