Kay Ralph Imsdahl June 13, 1942 - March 31, 2008 Kay Ralph Imsdahl passed away peacefully on March 31, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Kay was born on June 13, 1942 in New Richmond, Wisconsin. At age 18, he joined the Navy and fought in World War II on the USS Caelum 166. Once out of the Navy, he attended watchmaker's school in Sacramento on his GI bill. He married Jane Olexa, his wife of 58 years, in 1949 and settled in Kern County after the birth of their only child, Kathy. After working at two jewelry stores in the area, Kay and Jane opened their own store, Jane's Jewelers in Delano, CA in 1962. They owned the successful jewelry store until their daughter, Kathy and her husband, James Robbins took over in 1991 and moved the store to Bakersfield in 2001. He was an avid golfer and traveled all over the country to play the best courses. Private services were held at Hillcrest Memorial on Monday, April 7, 2008. In lieu of flowers and in support of those who continue to fight cancer, donations to Hoffmann Hospice (www.hoffcare.com) or Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center (CBCC; www.cbccusa.com) are welcome.
