Not sure where the middle initial S comes from? But no census record or his marriage record gives a middle initial
I think it was suppose to be Sr. after his son Ezekiel was born 1825...And also there is no record in our GREER family line that I have found that uses the name Harrison. Not until Ezekiel/Mary Rhoda name their son Ezekiel Harrison.. after her father Henry Harrison and he used his middle name Harrison on census records.
"Greer, Ezekiel married' (his 2nd cousin), 'Jemima Saunders daughter of Philemon Saunders' (& Jemima Greer) 'on 7th Oct. 1813." as per marriage record from "Marriage Bonds; Franklin Cnty VA." 1786-1858. Also in that book is her 2nd marriage to Benjamin Harris, Dec 13,1830.
When Ezekiel SR married his 2nd cousin Jemima Saunders, daughter of Philemon Saunders and Jemima Greer, who was the daughter of Joseph GREER brother to Benjamin Greer and also William JR. That UNION brought together a triple blood line...above 3 brothers were intermarried....
His son Ezekiel, my g-g-grandfather was 1 yr. old when his father died, depending on which site you are reading. some say he was 5 when his dad died.
1820 US Federal census for Franklin Cnty VA.
Ezekiel GREER "males under 10=2, males 16-25= 1, Females under 10=2, Females 16-25=1, Slaves-males 14-25=1, slaves Males 26-44=1, Slaves Female 14-25= 2 "
