as per the 1850 census records for Barren Cnty KY "Harrison Poynter is the father (age 37) of Mary R. (age 7) and his wife is Eliza J. (age 27)" This census reflects that Mary R Poynter was born 1843 Barren Cnty KY.

Elizabeth's siblings:
Mary D. Payne== Mar. Ezekiel Greer JR.
Mary was B: 1827 and Ezekiel B: 1825

Simeon S. Payne Mar.: Mary "Polly" Greer--Ezekiel GREER JR.'s sister.

and then when Ezekiel's wife Mary D.Payne died he married Mary Rhoda Poynter daughter of Elizabeth Jane Payne-Poynter, and the niece of his deceased wife....
she was 16 years younger.

gosh! talk about confusing... but we have the marriage records available....and

Harrison died in 1854 and then on the 1860 census, Mary's siblings, Amanda and William are living with her and her new husband, their Uncle Ezekiel.
So I believe that Eliza Jane also died just after her husband in 1854.
