Joan Williams Beloved Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, and Aunt, Joan Williams passed away peacefully on March 26, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. After her courageous fight with NSC Lung Cancer in 2010, Joan's battle resumed in June 2012 with Small Cell Lung Cancer. Her strong will to live, faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through months of exhausting Chemotherapy and Radiation. Yet even throughout her own struggle with Cancer, she reached out to others affected by this horrendous disease in many ways including participating in American Cancer Society Relay for Life and by just comforting others sitting nearby receiving their Chemo treatments simultaneously. Joan was welcomed into heaven by her beloved sisters Janet Fielding and Sandra White, brothers Charles (Butch) Robertson and her parents Charles E. Robertson and Wilma Osterman Robertson. She is dearly loved and will be missed by her children Christopher Robertson and Vicky & Kevin Kruser; sisters Polly Leckbee, Nancy Breuer, Mary Masterson, and Sally & husband Alan Parkhill; brothers Monty & Raymond Robertson and William & James McGraw; grandchildren Christopher & Crystal Robertson, Kourtney & Keaton Kruser, Rainy & Jillian Scholes; and great grandchild Lilyanne Rudicil.Joan was much loved by those who were lucky enough to be part of her life. She enriched the lives of all those around her. She was a beautiful person inside and out who showed love to everyone she came into contact with. Joan loved life, her family, and her friends. She was the glue that held her family together and her loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. Her children and grandchildren were the greatest joys of her live. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and socializing with everyone. Joan didn't know a stranger. She was a strong woman with a caring heart who was never seen without a smile. Joan will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.A Celebration of Her Life will be held at The Crossing Church located at 929 Monroe in Quincy, IL on Friday March 29th at 11am. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. She will be laid to rest at a later date with her twin sister Janet in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa, IL. When Joan started this journey she stated that she came into this world with Janet and wanted to leave this world with her. We know she is with loved ones in heaven and basking in the glory of our Lord. May her friends and loved ones find peace and salvation so they can find their way to heaven as well because Joan will be sitting on the front porch of heaven waiting for them.Memorials can be made to The Crossing Church and Blessing Foundation for Hospice.Arrangements by Duker & Haugh Funeral Home www.dukerandhaugh.com
