Born in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Albert Flanigan and Catherine Brennan Flanigan and wife for 61 years of Otis R. Levanway. She had resided in Troy for 56 years and was a graduate of Watervliet High School.
Rosemary was employed as a secretary for New York State for several years. She served as secretary to the Association of Retarded Children (ARC). It was through this organization that she helped the disabled in the community to have a voice.
Friends and family alike will remember Rosemary, Mom, Aunt Rose, Rose, as a kind and warm person who loved her family. She will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
Survivor in addition to her husband include a son, Albert A. (Karen) Levanway, Pismo Beach, CA; four daughters, Lynn A. (John) Schriner, Troy, Amy Plaisted (David), Eagle Point, OR, Eileen (Daniel) Moore, San Diego, CA and Patricia Cellucci, Troy; and 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth P. and Paul A. Levanway; a brother, William Flanigan and a sister, Shirley Student.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Rosemary's care givers, Albany VNA and Hospice of Rensselaer for the care and compassion they provided to their mom.
Relative and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Avenue, Troy on Thursday, from 4 - 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Christ Sun of Justice RPI Chapel and Cultural Center, Troy on Friday at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Edward Kacerguis, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
