Joe Flener, 69, rural Owensville, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
He was born July 9, 1934. He was a retired farmer and truck driver.
His parents, Sherman Winiger[sic] and Mary Lucille Flener, a son Leonard and a brother, Tom, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife Janet (Harper) Flener; five daughters, Lisa Terry of Allendale, Ill., Gina Staley, Julie and Amanda Flener of Owensville; Linda Morphew of Boonville; three sons, Jeff and Barry of Fort Branch and Rusty of Allendale; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville, Bart Newton officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Joseph was married five times. First to Lena Montgomery, then Martha Jane Straw, then to Martha Faye Fletcher. Each of these three marriages produced children. His fourth wife was Jo Ellen Mounts. He was survived by his fifth wife Janet Harper.
