DIES EARLY MONDAY MORNING
Mrs. Mary L. Stumbaugh, a well known Lyons woman, passes away at her home early Monday Morning -- Funeral arrangements not made.
At her home, in Seventh Street, Monday morning about 3 o'clock, Mrs. Mary L. Stumbaugh answered the final call. Mrs. Stumbaugh was sick but a short time, and her death comes as a great shock to the immediate family and her friends. Mrs. Stumbaugh leaves to mourn her children, three of whom are living at the present time at home. Mildred, Maude and Lora Stumbaugh; Mrs. H.C. Evans of Clinton, Mrs. C.W.Savage of Kansas City and one son John H. Stumbaugh of Chicago.
Mrs. Stumbaugh had passed her seventy-first birthday and was keeping house for her three daughters who were all working. She was born in Lanchester, Penn., in the year of 1840 and in the year 1863 married Mr. Stumbaugh and came to Lyons where she was esteemed and liked by all who knew her.
The funeral arrangements will not be made until the arrival of her son John Stumbaugh of Chicago.

Last Sad Rites for Well Known Lyons Woman
Are Held Wednesday Afternoon.

Sorrowing relatives and friends performed the last sad rites Wednesday afternoon for the late Mrs. Mary L. Stumbaugh, the well known Lyons woman who died early Monday morning at her residence. Funeral services were were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the late home in South Seven street. Rev. N. A. McAulay, Pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated and musical selections were rendered by Mrs. H. P. Fischer and Miss Kate Lundy. Interment was in Oakland cemetery. The Pall-bearers were; A.E. Ball, M.J. Gabriel, W. H> Childs, J.B. Ahrens, A.T. Miller and George C. Lollich
Mrs. Stumbaugh was the widow of the late Luther M. Stumbaugh and had resided here since 1863. her long residence and her natural traits of character had served to surround her with a great number of close friend to whom her death, the result of a strike of paralysis, brought keen grief. Born in Lancaster, Pa., in 1840, Mary Louise Hubley was married in the east, where she spent her childhood days. coming west with her husband in 1863. Mr. Stumbaugh passed away fifteen years ago and less than a year ago a daughter, Mabel, died.
Left to mourn the death of their mother are five daughters and one son. The daughters are: Mrs. C.W. Sawyer of Kansas City, Mo.; Maude, Mildred and Laura at home, and Mrs. H.C. Evans of Clinton. The son is John H. Stumbaugh of Chicago.
