Esther was born in Leith, Midlothian, according to census returns, but no baptism record has been yet (2013) found for her. Nothing is known about her parents, nor when, why or if they moved to Cumberland.

Gravestone is broken in two. Please see both photos. Photos taken by Mrs Joan Charlton on 23 August 2013 reproduced with kind permission.

In Loving Memory Of
William Wilson who died at Church Green on Sept. 18th 1884, aged 78 years, and Esther his wife, who died Feb. 2nd 1892 aged 79 years.
Also of William their son who died Jan. 19th 1900 aged 60 years
and Elizabeth his wife, who died aged 46 years on August 26th 1875 Interred at Finchley Cemetery London.

Also of his second wife Eliza who died May 25th 1890 aged 55 years.
Interred at Finchley Cemetery London.
