17 Apr 1956: Monroe Kohr, 72, died this morning at his home in Jonestown RD 2. He was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Young Kohr and belonged to Walmer's Lutheran Church and Sunday School at Indiantown Gap and to the P.O.S. of A. and the I.O.O.F., both organizations of Fredericksburg. He was a retired miner. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Caroline Bohr Kohr; and two sons, Charles Monroe Kohr, of Providence, RI; and Robert Milton Kohr, Rutherford Heights. Two other children, Paul Kohr and Mrs. Gertrude Binkley, preceded him in death. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother,Dawson Kohr, and two sisters, Miss Mabel Kohr, and Beulah, wife of Harry Thompson, all of Lebanon. [Lebanon Daily News]
