Mary Farrelly, 96, formerly of Gilroy Street, died Tuesday at the Heatherwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in County Cavan, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late James and Anne (McCann) Farrelly. Miss Farrelly was a domestic for the Van Alen family in Newport and Palm Beach, Fla. She also worked for the Hotel Viking, and Navy Adm. John Rooney.
She leaves a cousin, Mary J. Clarke of Pawtucket. She leaves a friend, Evelyn Burns, with whom she made her home.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 7:50 a.m. from the O'Neill-Hayes Funeral Home, 465 Spring St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 8:30 at St. Augustin Church, Carroll Avenue. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, RI.
