Clara Felder Leckinger, 88, died peacefully Saturday October 12, 2013 at United Helpers Riverledge Nursing Home, Odgensburg, with her family at her side. She had been battling cancer for a year and a half.

She was born March 7, 1925 in Winchester, Ontario Canada, she was the daughter of Alfred and Eliza Marion Amyot.

She married Lowell R. Felder on May 3, 1947. The couple lived in Redwood and owned and operated Felder's Gas Station for fourteen years. Clara also was employed with the United States Postal Service as a clerk and promoted to Postmaster in Russell, from 1978 to 1983 and in Hammond, from 1983 to 1990. Mr. Felder died July 10, 1990.

She married Roy Leckinger on July 25, 1992. He died April 1, 1997. Clara was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hammond, past president and director of the Children's Home, Watertown, Redwood Fire Department Auxiliary, serving as President, and later an honorary member.

She wintered in Lakeland, Florida for many years and was very active in bowling, golf, dancing and walking.

Survivors include three sons, Alan and Carol Felder, Dale and Judie Felder and Brian Felder, all of Redwood; a daughter and her husband, Susan and John Stine, Redwood; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Sue and Bill Wheaton, Ontario, NY and Diane and Ken Strobel, Midlothian, VA; nine grandchildren, one step granddaughter; twelve great grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Judy Ferguson and Connie and Louis Panunzio, all of Redwood and Aline and Robert Decker, Hammond; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by six brothers, Albert, George, Louis, Rosair, Alex and Paul; and three sisters, Jeanette Beaudin, Minnie Sargent and Frediline Amyot.

The funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Hammond with Clara's three nephews, Rev. Andrew Amyot, Rev. Douglas Decker and Rev. Robert Decker officiating. A gathering at the church will follow the mass. Burial at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Redwood.
