ADOLPH BEHNKE (d. 1957)

At the Lutheran church at 6 p.m. Tuesday evening, Rev. Koch officiating,
occurred the wedding of Miss Frieda Zahn and Mr. Adolph Behnke. A wedding
dance was given at the hall at Collins after the ceremony. The bride wore
a gown of pink satin and carried a bouquet of bridal roses. The bridesmaids
were gowned in pink silk. The couple will reside on the groom's farm near
Collins where they will be glad to welcome their friends.

Adolph Behnke, 69, retired Town of Rockland farmer, died Wednesday afternoon
at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, after a lingering illness. Funeral services
will be at 1:30 pm Saturday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 2 pm at St. John -
St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville. The Rev. John J. Wendland
will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Behnke was born Oct. 20, 1887 in Rockland, son of the late Carl and Henrietta
Seehafer Behnke. He married Ida Last of Lena August 26, 1915 at Reedsville and
always farmed.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Kraus of Rt. 2, Reedsville, Mrs.
Harold Zahn of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, Mrs. Orville Stecher of Rt. 4, Chilton and Mrs.
Charles Jandrey Jr., of Manitowoc; two sons, Martin of Rt. 2, Cato and Roland of
Rt. 2, Brillion; a brother, Rudolph of the Town of Franklin; 21 grandchildren.
A son and a daughter preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 o'clock this Thursday evening.
