Roland C Behnke, 78, of Brillion, died on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at Rivers Bend Nursing Home in Manitowoc.
He was born May 12, 1922, in the town of Rockland, son of the late Adolph and Ida (Last) Behnke. On August 23, 1952, he married Loretta Gruett Schultz at Reedsville. Mr. Behnke enjoyed farming the family farm in the town of Rockland his entire life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion where he served on the church and school board.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta; three sons, Stanley (Mary) Schultz, of Mason city, Iowa, Marcus (Rhonda) Behnke and Terry (Lisa) Behnke, all of Brillion; two daughters, Carolyn (Bud) McAtee of Brillion, Julie (David) Bubolz of Cato; his grandchildren, a brother, Martin (Julia) Behnke of Manitowoc and three sisters, Helen Zahn of Manitowoc, Rosaline (Orville) Stecker of Stockbridge, Sophia (Charles) Jandrey, Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lila Mae, a sister Josephine Kraus a brother Aaron Behnke, four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion, with the Rev. Ross Henzi as officiant. Burial was at Westside cemetery in Reedsville.
