Doug was born Oct. 28, 1942, to Douglas and Myrtle ( Nill )Janssens of Muskegon, Michigan. Doug's parents both predeceased him. Doug lived most of his early years in the Whitehall, Mi area, where he attended Whitehall High School. He also spent time in the Wolf Lake and Baldwin, Michigan areas. Doug's first marriage ended in divorce. The marriage did produce two beautiful daughters, Pamela and Cammy. Doug was later married to Patricia Vogg of North Dorr, Michigan. (Near Grand Rapids) Patricia (Pat) survives him, as do both daughters. Doug and Pat were happily married for 31 years, enjoying their time together. He also had an older sister, Judith (Judy), (Ron) Reilly of Elkhart, Indiana, who survives him. Doug had worked for Alloytek,(Jervis Corp.)for 28 years before retiring. Later he worked for the Grandville Public School system as head of their security. Doug enjoyed hunting (and telling tall tales of hunting) cutting his own wood for the winter, his Harley and chatting on his CB. Doug was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge of Dorr. He was also a member of the NRA and the HOGGS. Doug loved spending time with family and talking to friends. To include his canine friends. Doug had many friends through out his life and I'm glad he considered me as one of them.
