Dorothy Mae Berberich was born on March 20, 1924, the daughter of Fredrick and Margaret Berberich. She was born and raised in the Brooks, MN area, graduating from Erskine High School. Following high school she moved to Iowa to work a nurse's aide where she started her life's passion of caring for others. Soon thereafter, the love of her life, George, followed her to Iowa. They were married in Manley, Iowa on November 10, 1948. George and Dorothy moved back to Minnesota to start their family.
Throughout the years Dorothy was employed by American Crystal Sugar Co., was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the St. Rose Altar Society, and a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and she touched many lives.
They raised five wonderful children and are survived by Sherilyn (Steven) Hartsock of Largo, FL; Mary (Timothy) Kelley of Hillsboro, ND; Michael (Debra) Lessard of Hillsboro, ND; Scott (Lisa) Lessard of Elizabeth, CO; and Monica (Daniel) Engel of Elko, MN; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; two grandchildren, along with all of her brothers and sisters.
