Anson [Amson] Frohman, for many years a resident of this city, died at his home on Second street Monday night at 9 o'clock. Erysipelas was the cause of his death.

Mr. Frohman was born in Germany sixty-five years ago, and emigrated to America when he was a small boy. He began work as a clerk when he was fourteen years of age and continued to be a salesman, most of the time in dry goods stores, throughout his life. For the past thirteen years he had been a salesman for Joseph V. Hilger at the White House, and previous to that he clerked for several years in other stores in this city. He was an excellent salesman, a pleasant man with whom to do business and was always courteous and kind. Mr. Frohman was a charter member of Rolla Lodge No. 17, Knights of Pythias, and also a member of St. Johns' Lodge No. 20, F. and A. M. He belonged to a Jewish synagogue at Indianapolis.

Besides being survived by the widow, Mr. Frohman leaves the following children: Edward, Maurice, Isaac, Harry, Walter, Lilian, Mrs. Robert Riddle, Mrs. Oscar Lutz and Fanny. All live in this city with the exception of Isaac, who lives in New York.

The White House department store, where Mr. Frohman worked for so long, will be closed Wednesday morning, as a mark of respect, until after the body is shipped from this city.

The body of Mr. Frohman will be shipped to Indianapolis Wednesday morning on the 10:25 northbound Pennsylvania Lines train. A special coach will be attached to the train for the relatives and friends. Services will be held In the Jewish synagogue and burial will be in the Jewish cemetery at Indianapolis.
