Obedience Robins was born before 26 April 1601 at Long Buckby, Northamptonshire, England.

About 1621, he came to Virginia with his brother, Edward Robins, and settled in Jamestown, VA.

About 1628, he moved to the Eastern Shore and bought lands in Accomack Co., VA, where he made his home in Cherrystone, a 950-acre Tract of Land on Cherristone Creek, Northwest of Cheriton, Northampton Co., VA.

In 1632, he was appointed one of the first Commissioners of Accomack Co., VA. He was six times, a Member of the House of Burgesses and a Member of the Council.

In 1634, Col. Obedience Robins married Lady Grace (Neale) Waters, as a widow. Their children:

Northampton County, Virginia was formed in 1642 and is purported to have been named in honor of Obedience Robins' native Shire in England.

Obedience Robins died before 30 December 1662 at Northampton Co, VA, as his Will was probated on 30 December 1662 at Northampton Co, VA.
