MECHANICSVILLE, VA Arlene V. Crowl, 98, formerly of Brodbecks, passed away September 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton David Crowl; a daughter, Patricia C. Elrod; and ten siblings.

She is survived by her son, David E. Crowl and his wife, Theresa L. Crowl; five grandchildren, Christina A. Posillo (Michele), William T. Elrod (Tammy), Eric D. Elrod (Jodi), Timothy D. Crowl (Connie), Shaun W. Crowl; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene was a member of Chamberlayne Heights United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she was the chairman of the kitchen committee.

She loved her family and enjoyed cooking scrumptious meals for them. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 15, 2013, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 9271 Shady Grove Rd.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Chamberlayne Heights U. M. C., 6100 Chamberlayne Road, Richmond, Va. 23227, and also where monetary donations may be sent in her memory. A visitation with a prayer service will be held Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Pritts Funeral Home, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, Md., 21157.

A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in St. John's Leisters Lutheran Church Cemetery, Westminster, Md.
